Vehicle Registration

1. No motor vehicle, trailer, moped, or horse-drawn vehicle may be driven anywhere at any time unless a permit has been issued for it.

2. An offense is committed by any person who puts into circulation, or who drives, a motor vehicle or a trailer attached to it, as well as a three-wheeled vehicle or a motorcycle, that is not equipped with a registration certificate or whose registration certificate has been revoked, is classified as Category E4, and the offender is subject to an administrative fine of seven hundred (700) euros, as well as the on-the-spot revocation for thirty (30) days of the driver’s license and the vehicle’s registration documents. If these documents exist and have already been confiscated, the period of their confiscation is added to the period of confiscation already imposed. For the relevant violation concerning trucks, the special provisions of Law 3446/2006 (A’49) apply.

3. An offense is committed by any person who puts into service, or by any person who operates, an agricultural machine with or without a trailer, or a construction machine with or without a trailer, that is not equipped with a registration certificate or whose registration certificate has been revoked, is classified as Category E4, and the offender is subject to an administrative fine of seven hundred (700) euros, as well as the on-the-spot suspension for thirty (30) days of the driver’s license and the vehicle’s registration documents. If these documents exist and have already been confiscated, the period of their confiscation is added to the period of confiscation already imposed.

4. The offense committed by a person who puts into circulation, or by a person who drives, a moped that is not equipped with a registration certificate or whose registration certificate has been revoked or has expired, is classified as Category E4, and the offender is subject to an administrative fine of seven hundred (700) euros, on-the-spot suspension of the driver’s license and the vehicle’s registration for thirty (30) days. If these documents exist and have already been confiscated, the period of their confiscation is added to the period of confiscation already imposed. The violation committed by a person who puts into circulation or drives a horse-drawn vehicle that is not equipped with a registration certificate is classified as Category E2-A.
