Lights on three-wheeled vehicles
1. Three-wheeled vehicles are equipped with: a) One (1) or two (2) running lights. Three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum width exceeding one thousand three hundred (1,300) millimeters are equipped with two (2) running lights.
b) One (1) or two (2) intersection lights. Three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum width exceeding one thousand three hundred (1,300) millimeters are equipped with two (2) turn signals.
c) One (1) or two (2) turn signals on each side.
d) One (1) or two (2) brake lights. Three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum width exceeding one thousand three hundred (1,300) millimeters must be equipped with two (2) brake lights.
e) One (1) or two (2) front parking lights. Three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum width exceeding one thousand three hundred (1,300) millimeters must be equipped with two (2) front position lights.
(f) One (1) or two (2) rear position lights. Three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum width exceeding one thousand three hundred (1,300) millimeters must be equipped with two (2) rear position lights.
(g) A light to illuminate the rear license plate.
(h) Two (2) non-triangular rear reflectors. (i) Emergency light.
(i) One (1) or two (2) non-triangular rear reflectors. Three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum width of up to one thousand (1,000) millimeters are not required to have a rear reflector.
In addition, three-wheeled vehicles may also be equipped with:
a) One (1) or two (2) front fog lights,
(b) one (1) or two (2) rear fog lights,
(c) one (1) or two (2) reverse lights,
(d) one (1) or two (2) non-triangular reflectors on each side.
2. The lights referred to in paragraph 1 must meet the specifications regarding color, intensity, and placement that are established for the corresponding lights on motor vehicles.
3. Violations committed by a person who puts into circulation, as well as by a person who drives, a three-wheeled vehicle that is not equipped with the lights and reflective devices specified above, that function in accordance with this article, are classified in category E2-A.
