Article 76

Reflectors

1. Motor vehicles and trailers must be equipped with at least two (2) red reflectors at the rear, visible to a driver at night under clear weather conditions from a distance of at least one hundred fifty meters (150 m) when illuminated by the headlights, the turn signals or fog lights of another vehicle.

2. The reflectors mentioned above for motor vehicles may be of any shape except triangular, while those for trailers must be in the shape of an equilateral triangle, with sides ranging in length from fifteen centimeters (0.15 m) to twenty centimeters (0.20 m), and must be mounted with one side horizontal and the opposite vertex pointing upward. No illuminated sign may be placed within this triangle.

3. The outer edge of the reflector’s illuminating surface shall not be more than forty

centimeters (0.40 m) from the outermost edge of the vehicle on that side.

4. Trailers must be equipped at the front with two (2) white reflectors of any shape other than triangular, which meet the visibility requirements specified in paragraph 1.

5. Motor vehicles and trailers with a length exceeding six (6) meters must be equipped with yellow side reflectors.

6. Violations committed by a person who puts into circulation, or by a person who drives a motor vehicle or trailer that does not have the reflectors required by this article, are classified under category E2-A.
