Article 69

Parking lights (small)

1. Motor vehicles have two (2) white front parking lights.

The use of a special shade of yellow for these lights is permitted when they are incorporated into traffic or intersection lights that emit beams of a special shade of yellow.

2. The parking lights referred to in paragraph 1, when they are the only lights on, during the night under clear weather conditions, must be visible from a distance of at least three hundred (300) meters, without causing glare or difficulty for road users.

3. Cars and trailers must have, at the rear, an even number of red parking lights, visible from a distance of at least three hundred (300) meters at night under clear weather conditions, without causing glare or difficulty for road users.

4. The outermost point of the illuminating surface of the parking lights must be no more than forty centimeters (0.40 m) from the outermost edge of the same side of the vehicle.

5. Trailers with a width greater than one meter and sixty centimeters (1.60 m) must have two (2) white front position lights, as specified in paragraph 1, mounted in such a position that the outermost point of their illuminating surface is no more than fifteen centimeters (0.15 m) from the outermost edge of the same side of the trailer.

6. Violations of this provision by the person who puts the vehicle into service, as well as by the person who drives a motor vehicle or trailer that is not equipped with the parking lights required in paragraphs 1 through 5, are classified in category E2-A.
