Article 58

Vehicle Towing

1. Road vehicles are permitted to tow another vehicle.

2. Agricultural tractors are permitted to tow more than one piece of agricultural machinery, provided that they are equipped with wheel-braking systems that can be operated from the tractor’s driver’s seat and the total length of the combination does not exceed fourteen (14) meters. In the cases referred to in the first paragraph, Articles 59, concerning the braking of motor vehicles, Article 60, concerning the parking braking of trailers, and Article 61, concerning the parking braking of vehicle combinations, shall apply accordingly.

3. Towing a motor vehicle by another vehicle is permitted, in accordance with paragraphs 1 and 2, only if the towed vehicle is unable to move under its own power due to a malfunction or the absence of essential components, and provided that this does not pose a danger to traffic.

4. Violations of this provision are classified under category E1-B.
