Slowdown

1. Sudden braking is prohibited, unless required for safety reasons.

2. Except when slowing down is necessary to avert an imminent danger, a driver may significantly reduce the speed of his or her vehicle, only if this does not pose a danger or cause inconvenience to other drivers and only after giving a clear and timely warning in advance. The warning is given by using the brake lights, the vehicle’s flashing hazard lights, or by hand (extending the arm and moving it continuously up and down).

3. Violations of this provision are classified under Category E1-A.
