Article 27

Change of Direction

1. To turn right, the driver should move toward the right edge of the roadway in a timely manner and make the turn as tightly as possible.

2. In order to turn left, the driver gradually moves toward the centerline of the roadway if it is a two-way street, and toward the left edge of the roadway if it is a one-way street (one-way street). To enter the perpendicular street, the driver makes the turn at the center of the intersection so that the vehicle enters the right side of that street’s roadway. While performing this maneuver, the driver allows oncoming vehicles traveling on the roadway they are about to leave to pass.

3. If, when changing direction, a driver is about to cross a dedicated lane intended for public transportation, bicycles, or mopeds, the driver must yield the right of way to them.

4. In paragraphs 1 and 2, provided that the driver intending to change direction signals this intention, in accordance with paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 25, regarding rules for vehicle maneuvers, drivers following him and traveling in adjacent lanes shall facilitate his maneuver by reducing the speed of their vehicles while he is not yet changing direction, if he cannot do so safely.

5. Violations of paragraphs 1, 2, and 4 are classified in category E1-B. A violation of paragraph 3 is classified in category E1-A and in category S.
