Article 2

Subject

The purpose of this document is, in particular:
(a) the adoption of provisions to ensure the safe coexistence of pedestrians and vehicles on the country’s road network and the creation of conditions for sustainable urban mobility,
(b) the streamlining and categorization of violations of the Highway Code, based on their level of risk and their impact on other traffic,
c) the amendment of regulations concerning vehicle loading, the safe operation of motorcycles, mopeds, and Light Personal Electric Vehicles (LPEVs), and the decoupling of penalties for traffic violations from the vehicle,
(d) resolving issues that have arisen due to provisions that have proven problematic to implement or ambiguous provisions concerning repeat traffic violations, and
(e) updating the existing framework to keep pace with technological advances and the modern model of mobility and transportation.
